Information
Zugdidi is basically a transit town before visiting the legendary and very popular Svaneti. However, it is not advisable to just pass through it, as it is home to the famous palace of the former Dadiani princes, who had family ties with Napoleon Bonaparte himself. For this reason, one of the three posthumous masks of Napoleon is kept in the castle.
In addition, the castle has more than 40 thousand exhibits of Georgian culture and monuments from the fallen Constantinople, which are interestingly told on the internal excursion. Plus the castle is wrapped in a beautiful botanical garden with rare plants, which are worth seeing in person.
